decisions
Wendy said several women 'laid the bike down' and one broke an ankle and was hauled away in an ambulance. Makes me feel even more that I did the right thing by leaving motorcycle training when I did. It seemed an ill-fated day. I had a flat tire on the way home. But from a positive point of view, I did not break an ankle, and the flat happened after I got off the highway and was able to turn into a gas station and call AAA who came within an hour and sent me on my way to buy 4 new tires at the neighborhood NTB store where I ran into an old roommate.

No more
They say wisdom comes with age, but I say knowing when to say 'No more' comes with experience. That was me on the Honda Rebel which got 'out of control.' Luckily, I did not 'lay it down' but it got very scary. The instructor yelled 'clutch' and I was able to bring 300# of metal to a stop. I was asked to consider if I wanted to continue. Deciding I did not want to risk a knee cap, I bowed out. Sad, but safe.
more and furthermore
As a woman of a certain age I find I need adventure. If not now, when? So this weekend is the motorcycle training class. I got the temp license, I hauled the leather jacket out of the closet, and the leather garden gloves will do. They provide the bike and the helmet. Another woman and I went to a motorcycle swap meet this weekend. Her boyfriend has a Honda. Unfortunately, they broke up but we are going forward. So with 1 swap meet, and 2 bike stores under my belt, I now am beginning to realize just how much I do not know. They come in all sizes, they are heavy. I'm going to need to find a bike that is light and low.
