Street style

I have enjoyed looking at other blog entries. One of my favorites is Fashionist, who photographs people on the street whose fashion sense she admires. She apparently recently went to Mexico and so I was treated to 'street style' ala Mexico. Thank you Fashionist.

Lake Erie revisited

Lake Erie revisited. Kayaking got cancelled due to a thunderstorm over the Lake. Now rescheduled for 7/28, a moonlight paddle, once again gearing up for a petite adventure. I'm thinking maybe I should schedule more things since 60% get cancelled due to weather or some other contingent. The boyfriend cancelled due to 'logistics.' I'm not sure what that means but could it possibly be good? I'll give him the shadow of a doubt and see how it plays out.

another day

The car scene is together--loan,insurance,title,plates. And my angry friend--I will cut her some slack--she is the one that brought me home when I had too much to drink. But I have not addressed the situation with her directly, which an assertive friend urges. But I trust my sensibility and will know if that makes sense. All is not introspection, the adventures continue--kayaking on the 27th on Lake Erie! Yahoo!

told me off

Still working on getting the car scene together...CC was giving me rides to work for the last 2 weeks, but apparently this was not alright with her and she had to get angry [her driving had been scary, road rage, etc.] before she could say so. So on the way to work she finally said...I was taking advantage of her generosity [we live 6 blocks apart and work 20 miles south of here, I had given her gas money], she had discussed this with her friends and they agree with her [of course]. Then I got psychoanalysed. CC is a very angry person and sometimes one excuse is as good as another to express that angry. She said I must immediately find another way to get to and from work...so I rented a car. I apologized for my alleged transgressions, but that changed nothing. Have you dealt with an angry situation? how did it turn out?

when you need a friend

Did I tell you the car 'died'? Timing chain, etc. Now is the time when I find out who my friends are. Connie is giving me a ride to work, Ana is lending me a car for a week [the one I am buying from her], and Wendy is giving me a ride to pick up the car Sunday and brunch too. l;l;;;;;;;; [Cat steps on the keyboard!] Now for the financing part...U.S. Bank here I come. Funny how I became so attached to a car, the 'Black Rose,' I felt I was betraying her, leaving her behind when she had been so good to me. Thank you, friends.

decisions

Wendy said several women 'laid the bike down' and one broke an ankle and was hauled away in an ambulance. Makes me feel even more that I did the right thing by leaving motorcycle training when I did. It seemed an ill-fated day. I had a flat tire on the way home. But from a positive point of view, I did not break an ankle, and the flat happened after I got off the highway and was able to turn into a gas station and call AAA who came within an hour and sent me on my way to buy 4 new tires at the neighborhood NTB store where I ran into an old roommate.

No more

They say wisdom comes with age, but I say knowing when to say 'No more' comes with experience. That was me on the Honda Rebel which got 'out of control.' Luckily, I did not 'lay it down' but it got very scary. The instructor yelled 'clutch' and I was able to bring 300# of metal to a stop. I was asked to consider if I wanted to continue. Deciding I did not want to risk a knee cap, I bowed out. Sad, but safe.
